A Balanced Earth

Thursday, October 15th, 2009

OK – we’ve scoured the internet and have found this guy who is proposing a project, (for graduate school maybe?), where he uses an Indo Board along with some multi-media to “explore the properties of balance and how difficult it is to create a balanced sustainable world.”

Sounds kinda out there, but interesting at the same time!

You can check out his blog here…

Don’t Be A Skateboarding Jerk

Wednesday, September 30th, 2009

Skateboarders already have a bad reputation and it doesn’t help our cause when skate park patrons act so badly that their own park gets closed by the city!!

Seems a bunch of unruly kids repeatedly broke the rules at the local skate park in Burrillville, RI, and  enough complaints were made that, “after all options to resolve the bad conduct of the juveniles who frequent the park were unsuccessful”,  the park was shut down, according to town officials.

The Harrisville park is now off limits to skaters. Skateboard ramps and other equipment will be disassembled this month and put into storage until the spring. At that time, town officials will reevaluate the situation and decide whether or not to re-open the park.

What a waste! What idiots! We hope our customers who use the Indo Board to improve their skateboarding have enough sense to follow the rules at their own skate park and can act like mature and responsible citizens so we don’t see more skate parks closed!!

Malibu Beach Makes Me Sick

Tuesday, June 30th, 2009

Nevermind that Malibu is a city filled with celebs, mulit-million dollar houses and lays claim to one of the best and most famous surfing breaks in the world -  the water there will make you sick… literally!!

Malibu Surfrider beach is becoming less famous for Gidet, Moondog and sweet summer swells and more famous for leaking septic tanks, sinus infections, ear infections, eye infections and diarrhea.

With all the millionaires that live there you’d think they’d clean up their collective acts… guess they’re so busy saving everyone elses environment they’re too busy or too thoughless to clean up their own backyards.

C’mon folks… stop polluting the ocean and get a sewer system already… it’s not like you can’t afford it!!!

You can get more info at the Surfrider Foundations West Los Angeles. Malibu Chapter…

Skateboard Classes in Minnesota School

Wednesday, April 1st, 2009

Battling a national childhood obesity crisis, Fridely Elementary School in Minnesota saw a need to structure physical education around activities kids enjoy and can take home with them and do after school in lieu of spending hours texting and surfing Web sites like Facebook so they’ve added a skateboarding class to the school’s curriculum!

Kids are more likely to stay active if they’re introduced to a sport or activity they like, said Eric Klassen, who cofounded Skate Pass, the Colorado-based firm that helped start the skating program for the school.

Just like skateboarding you can have fun while you get in shape with our Indo Boards. Working out on an Indo Board balance board will also improve your skateboarding AND you can even do it while you watch TV.  :-P

Skateboarding Parrot Kidnapped

Friday, March 27th, 2009

gordo

We know lots of our customers here at Buy-Indo-Boards are avid skateboarders so we thought this news flash might be of interest to you!

Seems this 30 year old skateboarding Guatemalan parrot named Gordo, was stolen right off the front porch of his owners house in Baldwin Park, CA on Wednesday.

The act was caught on a neighbor’s security camera but the bird-napper has yet to be captured by local police. Needless to say his owner, Frank Mirales, is devastated and hopes whoever took Gordo will have the heart to bring him back…
